Now what I’m about to write is something completely different to what I thought I would be writing, contrary to my last post and my opinions about this book.
However, I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I read it today and finished it about 20 minutes ago and thought ‘Oh my God, I need to write something about this!’ So I did:). And here’s a brief description of this book;
It all starts on Halloween night, where best friends Bobbie and Naya, along with bad boy Caine, are dared to summon the ghost of Bloody Mary by their schoolmates. So they do, and they say it five times in front of a mirror…nothing happened.
Straight away.
They summoned something dark and dangerous with an immense amount of rage and a sense of revenge that is able to kill them all. She is deadly, and they’ve got to do something about it.
I don’t read books like this a lot, I’m usually the girlie Anna and the French Kiss or Clockwork Angel type. I absolutely loved it. At first, I didn’t really get into it but as soon as the action started, it was right up my street..a street I obviously never knew I had!
I think what I loved more about this book was the fact that yes it was supposed to be mainly Horror, but the author made sure that there were times where comedic relief was applied, and also, he added a sense of love which is very hard to do in such a deep, devouring book like this. I honestly had no clue what was going to happen at the end, I genuinely did not know where the ending would lead. *POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERTS, OR DEFIANTLY SPOILER ALERTS* The ending honestly played with my emotions, one minute I thought that they were all dead and there was no hope, the next minute I thought everything would be okay ,they all survived and Mary wasn’t a problem anymore, and THEN, just as everything was okay, there was an OH SHOOT moment for both us and Bobbie, and then the novel ended. Great.
I did actually enjoy this book a hell of a lot, and I’m still re-reading the end page and trying to come to terms with it… I just can’t.
